Don Goodwin

Don Goodwin of Alpha Financial Group has been in the business of helping people with their finances for more than 40 years, with a specific focus on helping people secure the income necessary to retire. He began as a tax preparer and has progressed into an IRS-Licensed Enrolled agent, a life and health insurance agent and a financial consultant. 

Don has also served as a pastor for over 40 years and currently pastors in Livingston, Texas, north of Houston. He has served on numerous nonprofit organizational boards and continues to do so today. Don graduated from Eastfield Jr. College in 1980 with an associate in Arts & Science degree that included an Accounting Certificate. He also graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, with a bachelor’s degree in 1995. 

Don noticed many people are afraid of running out of money in their retirement years, but really don’t have someone they trust to help them create a plan. This is why he devotes himself to finding safe and secure areas of investment that offer the greatest profit potential for each of his clients. His primary goal is to help his clients make sound financial decisions for their future, so that they don’t have to drastically change their lifestyle when they retire. He feels blessed to have accrued a large number of clients, but is prouder of the fact that they are satisfied with the work he has done for them. “I’m happy to say that I have a good relationship with all of my clients,” Don said, “because that is really what is most important, that they feel satisfied with my services.” 

Alpha Financial Group is a vital part of Don’s ministry and life. Don and Lucas are very thankful to be able to help clients in the United States, as well as abroad. They are experienced in helping individuals, small business, churches, exempt organizations and ministries in the areas of taxation, retirement planning and business set-up and planning. 

Most of Don’s free time is spent with his six young granddaughters and family. He has been married to his wife Lori for over 40 years, who works in the local school district, coordinates the music ministry and plays the keyboard at their church and is very involved in the family business. Their son-in-law Lucas and daughter Amy; as well as, their daughter-in-law Jenny work at Alpha Financial Group, too, so Don and Lori love the fact that going to work also means getting to hang out with family.
